21 Weeks and other happenings

Welcome, friends!

This week has been sorta a rollercoaster of emotions! Wednesday I said goodbye to a wonderful supervisor, wishing her well in her future work endeavors.  She's a gem and I'll truly miss her ability to understand my sense of humor and personality and supervise me accordingly.  Thursday I got some not so lovely work news that was also a downer.  Friday hubs and I road tripped to Springfield, IL to go pick up Baby's crib!  Also on Friday, one of my favorite people in the world welcomed her sweet little boy into the world!  Saturday, we finished putting Baby's crib together and visited said new baby boy Ryder!  He is SUCH a doll and such a sweet little man.  I secretly want to steal him for myself because he's so perfect!  (PS sorry for no picture of Ryder--his mommy hasn't given me permission to use his photo yet)

Here's our nursery progress thus far.  I cannot WAIT to add the artwork and his initials/name to his room and officially make it his!  My incredible mom and stepdad purchased Baby's crib for him.  I also have the toybox made for me when I was a baby to use in Baby's room as well as a rocking chair that my dad refinished for my mom before I was born!  I cannot wait to show the final pictures to all of you!

How far along? 21 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: As baby gains, I can only imagine how much I'm gaining too :)
Baby is the size of a: Pomegranate/length of a carrot
Maternity clothes? Yes, maternity t-shirts for now, maxi skirts and maxi dresses
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep has been pretty good this week!  I can't get enough.  So, SO tired.
Best moment this week: Picking up baby boy's crib and putting together, and meeting baby Ryder!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? As the 4th approaches, I miss our tradition we created last summer--Summer Brew on the 4th!  I will SO miss it this year.  I told Andy I'll probably be having Dos Equis, summer brew, and trops in December!
Movement: Becoming MUCH more frequent--pretty much after every time I eat or drink something cold.  I love laying on my tummy and being able to tell exactly where he and the bump begin.  Such a weird but way cool feeling!
Food cravings: Totally feeling over food lately.  You name it, I'm probably burnt out on it.  Nothing sounds good.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really, but I did wake up really icky and sick this morning which was NOT fun.  Kinda been queasy all day.
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On for now, but still take off every night when I get home.  Heat swelling sucks.
Happy or Moody most of the time: This week?  Totally cranky most of the time.  See above, if you forgot.
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep is golden.
Looking forward to: Our shower!  We have officially set a date and my Mama has reserved the space.  So mark your calendars if you're reading: August 16th.  And for those who are asking, our registry is at Babies R Us.  I look forward to seeing all of you and honoring Baby Boy's future arrival!

HALFWAY THERE!

Welcome, Friends!

How far along? 20 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: Hovering around pre-pregnancy weight.  Today they said I am up two pounds I guess....
Baby is the size of a: Small canteloupe/length of a banana
Maternity clothes? I finally broke down this weekend and bought two maternity t-shirts.  I didn't want to stretch out my favorite tees and I'm SURE you're all tired of seeing the same shirts over and over again!
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep this week has kinda been meh.  We've learned that Frank is afraid of lightening and with all of the nighttime storms, he's been crying every night until we let him in our bed--and he is a bed HOG.
Best moment this week: SO many good moments this week, it's hard to narrow down.  Finishing the registry, painting baby boy's room, and seeing him at our 20 week morphology scan today!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Fun fruity drinks in the pool!
Movement: Comes and goes.  Doctor confirmed today that I have an anterior placenta which is why I haven't felt as much movement.
Food cravings: Not really anything this week, so trying hard to eat more fruits and veggies.
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On for now, but I find that I take my ring and my watch off every night when I get home.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!
Weekly Wisdom: Remember to eat more than green bean casserole and a granola bar during the day or you will get REALLY angry-hungry.
Looking forward to: Picking up the crib this weekend!

This week we painted baby's room!  Below is the final(ish) picture.  I have a couple spots to touch up where the paint dripped or peeled, but paint is almost done!  I also need to deep clean and shampoo the floors before we pick up his crib this weekend.  So it seems I'll be busy every night this week in preparation!

We also agreed and purchased his stroller and bedding this week.  We agreed on the theme of the decorations and I'm PRETTY sure we've agreed on the name (although we are NOT sharing until he is born).

It was SO exciting to see baby boy moving and how much he has grown at our morphology scan today.  He really has grown so much and especially in the past week I've been talking to him more and expressing how excited I am to meet him!  What will he look like?  What color will his eyes be?  What color will his hair be?  What will his personality be like?

HAHA oh.  And THIS HAPPENED....which is REALLY, REALLY major.  Guess he's ready to be a Dad now?

Until next time! Xo

19 weeks

How far along? 19 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: Last weigh in I was still down, and when I do at-home weigh ins, they're still hovering around the pre-pregnancy weight.
Baby is the size of a: Large Heirloom tomato
Maternity clothes? Not yet...did the maxi skirt thing again this week with the hair band trick on my regular jeans.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep comes and goes this week.  If I'm exhausted, then it's usually pretty good.  But if I'm just tired, then sleep isn't so great.
Best moment this week: Starting the registry, deciding on colors, deciding on bedding, getting CLOSE to agreeing on the name (or at least I think so)
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Because the world cup started, I am obligated to say I miss beer, soccer, and goldfish nights with the hubs.
Movement: Comes and goes but starting to be much more frequent!
Food cravings: Boiled peanuts, warm dip with pretzels (which Andy thought was completely crazy)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nothing this week!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On, but Missouri weather hates me and I'm sure it won't be long until they're off and my fingers are permanently swollen.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Happy!  But much more irritable than before...
Weekly Wisdom: Um, this one's hard this week because it really has been a great week and I have no complaints!
Looking forward to: Painting baby boy's room this weekend :)

This weekend we went to the baby expo in town.  It was very interesting!  I learned that my hips are not aligned, thus explains the consistent, terrible back pain I fight all of the time.  So I'll be working to get a chiropractic appointment set up in the upcoming days/weeks/soon so I don't have to keep fighting.  I also learned that the stroller I want should be available soon again for order as it has been out of stock for a while.  Finally, I learned that getting up at 7 on a Saturday just to talk to at least 100 of people = a cranky, tired Sarah who sleeps really good that same night.

We started our registry this weekend, too, but still have several things to add to it before we will be mailing anything out.  We've decided on bedding and special ordered from Etsy.  My parents are graciously paying for the crib as a gift to baby boy...such an incredible gift and I am beyond excited and grateful!  We also have a dresser that was my dad's when he was alive that will be baby boy's dresser/changing table.  My longtime friend Allee has volunteered to refinish it in the design we've chosen as a gift to baby and again, could not be more grateful.  I'm thankful for each of my friends and loved ones who have decided to gift something into/for baby boy's life, and grateful and humbled by the blessings they all bring.

These are the colors we have thus far and the before of our dresser:

We are getting closer to setting a date for the shower that my mom is planning.  Even though it won't be for several months, she wants to go ahead and set a date so we can get a place reserved.  Soooo excited!

No name yet but--we are getting close.  I have a name that I love and hubs hasn't said it's NOT the one so....hoping soon he will agree that it is the one!  But until he is born, it will be kept private.  Sorry for those who were waiting for the announcement of that one!

Hubs and I celebrated the beautiful weather yesterday after doing the registry bit.  It was SO nice outside and too beautiful to pass up sitting outside.  But of course, it was breezy and his hair was everywhere.  So it was completely entertaining.

I can't wait to continue to share pictures and plans as baby boy's nursery comes together! Xo

Wednesday, June 4, 2014

Well, hello there!  It's been a fun week here at the Hall house.  Andy has been on cloud nine after finding out Baby Hall is Baby BOY Hall.  Baby Boy is still nameless, but we have a few frontrunner names that we are still trying to agree on!

Friday we went to Anchor Fest for food and then ran away as quickly as possible.  Anchor Fest is a local fair that comes every year to Centralia.  There are always carnival rides, carnival food, carnies, a car show, street dancing, and much more crazy nonsense.  People tend to come out of the woodwork and NOT bathe before coming...it's an entertaining adventure.  Here's the food spread.  It was HEAVEN...until it made me wicked sick.

Saturday morning I got up EARLY (WAY early for me, like ready before 9 am on a Saturday early) and hubs, my Mama, and I all went garage sale-ing for clothes for baby boy.  We got SO much stuff for him and I am so, so so excited!  I washed it all and here's a picture of the spread so far.  I've even started hanging things in his closet and it makes me even more excited to meet him!

Oh.  And one of my favorites so far.

After that on Saturday, we decided to get the heck out of dodge and away from the Anchor Fest crazies.  We drove to O Fallon, IL to visit our good friends and visit said friends and their grandson's birthdays!  This sweet little LoveBug is so entertaining and I really enjoyed celebrating his third birthday!

Isn't he the cutest?  This was his second or third piece of cake.

Sunday we came home and chilled out.  I vegged out most of the day on pinterest looking at color schemes for baby boy's room.

And for the weekly update:

Best moment this week: Starting on Baby Boy's closet!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Not much this week...I feel pretty satisfied. :)
Movement: Comes and goes
