TRICKY.

Welcome, welcome!  (in my Effie Trinket voice)

How far along? 27 weeks 1 day...THIRD TRIMESTER WOOOOOOO!!!!!
Total weight gain/loss: We will see again next week when we visit the doctor! I'm sure it's plenty :)
Baby is the size of a: Cauliflower!
Maternity clothes? Yes, maternity t-shirts, maxi skirts and maxi dresses.  I do have a pair of maternity skinnies my mom bought me that I've worn a couple times, too.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep this week is pretty good.  This weekend I slept until 11:30 BOTH days of the weekend, which is a first since I got pregnant (and for a long time, actually!).  But of course, my brain hates me so last night I slept terrible.  Typically when I know I have to get up early then my brain keeps me awake and plays tricks on me by making me think that my back hurts, hips hurt, or that a certain cute hubs is breathing too loud or sleeping too close to me for me to sleep.  So I'm VERY ready for some good sleep tonight!
Best moment this week: Getting M's letters hung above the crib in his room.  Picture below! Or baking with Andy's mom.  Or sitting on my Mom's front porch and catching up on her recent travels with her and Bob.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Angry Orchard, totally.  Can't decide if I want that or wine for my first drink when M pops out.
Movement: Daily!  My favorite thing is not to feel him with my hand anymore but to watch my belly flop around.  I stole this name from a favorite mama of mine, but I like to think right now I have a Mr. Flopsy flopping around in my tummy...or so it appears :)
Food cravings: So random: plain chips and french onion dip, and broc cheese soup.
Anything making you queasy or sick: None this week!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? Still in!  Although I guess I need to take out my belly button ring soon?  Or so I'm told.  It's not stretched out so I'm not sure.
Wedding rings on or off? Mostly on this week!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Ha, this makes me laugh because during the week I was quite irritable but this weekend was great!
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep plenty and get lots of fiber DAILY and not a lot in just one day.
Looking forward to: Baby shower this weekend!!!!!!!

And as promised: a picture of M's letters above his crib.  Well, sorta. :)  I'm sticking with the no name sharing because I don't like the name judging and I truly love the name for our baby boy!

Weird thing happened this week also.  My colostrum came in already?  It's early but I'm not sure what else that could've been so I guess we will see what the doctor says!

Oh, and SO looking forward to our appointment next week.  I've completed our glucose test at least two weeks ago and haven't heard anything back yet, so hoping that's a good thing!  But I guess we will see what the doctor says!  Can I say I'm a little jealous of my friends who get to do extra screenings and hear their babies' heartbeats a little extra? :)  I hope this doesn't come back to haunt me!!

Finally, I am so so SO looking forward to our shower this weekend.  I cannot wait to see all of our friends and give them love!  So if you're reading this, I look forward to seeing you there!  After this weekend, M's room can finally be complete and I can start organizing his dresser (before and after pics to come after the shower) and hang his final artwork!

I love you more than.... (AKA 26 weeks)

Welcome, friends!  I hope you've had a wonderful week.  My week continues to be ridiculously busy with work things.  But the end is near and my birthday is close, so that's a reason enough to keep my eyes on the prize.  We have been working this week on trying to train Frank to not jump up on us when we come home for the day--easier said than done.  We also unfortunately had to buy a bark collar this week.  Frank is a beagle/hound mix and barks ALL. OF. THE. TIME.  Frank barks when there are leaves moving or when he sees a car's reflection or if there are birds in the back yard or if the dog who lives behind us barks.  FRANK LOVES TO BARK.  Barking dog does not equal happy baby, so we have 97 days to get this under control before M makes his appearance.  But this sweet face...

How far along? 26 weeks 1 day....Yes, you read that right.  Double digits left!  I am so excited about this upcoming time with my new little love in 3 months and just a few days...
Total weight gain/loss: +3 pounds (are you sure?!)
Baby is the size of a: My app says the length of a green onion or hothouse cucumber.  You decide.
Maternity clothes? Yes, maternity t-shirts, maxi skirts and maxi dresses.  I do have a pair of maternity skinnies my mom bought me that I've worn a couple times, too.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep is good again this week, along with using the hoppy maternity pillow.  I'm sleeping on my tummy much less though.   M always thumps around in protest anytime I lay on it, so it's a last resort (although it's still my favorite way to sleep!)
Best moment this week: Seeing Andy's face when he felt M move for the first time this week.  It was the most wonderful thing to see and experience.  Or...when M's bedding came in this week.  Or...another story.  See below.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Wine.  I literally told hubs I want alcohol-free wine for my birthday.  Yes, they make it (we saw it on Shark Tank so it's at least partially legit).
Movement: Daily!  Sometimes I just lay around with my hands on my tummy so I can feel him move.  Work is stressful and M always knows the right times to remind me that he's in there :)
Food cravings: Spicy trail mix.  It's stupid and I can't resist!
Anything making you queasy or sick: None this week!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In...although my navel ring is poking out a lot more than it did before so I'm worried the status on this one might be changing soon....
Wedding rings on or off? Some days on, some days off for a short time.  Swelling is no bueno.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Pissy mostly this week, but because of other circumstances not baby related.
Weekly Wisdom: Um.  Think ahead for lunch because otherwise you will be an emotional, hungry mess.
Looking forward to: Baby shower next weekend!

Andy took this picture of my belly while I was laying on the ground waiting for M to move.  It's officially a hill and no longer a bump.

And how could I forget?  Last weekend we bought M's "going home" outfit.  It's adorable.  I can't wait to meet our little bear.

This week I started playing the game "I love you more than..." It's a game where you tell your significant other "I love you more than (insert something you love)."  I usually say things like "I love you more than chocolate chip cookies"  or "I love you more than sleeping in."  Andy's responses are equally as entertaining and he told me once "I love you more than beer."  This week he took the cake when he said "I love you more than everything."  I think my heart may have exploded with the amount of love I felt.  I can't wait to see him as a dad, and think my heart will likely explode the first time I see him holding baby M.  I'm seriously lucky to have this guy in my life.

Ps I'm not totally sure what this is from.  But I found it while looking for a picture of Andy and it cracked me up!

And finally, I am beyond excited to share these updated pictures of the nursery.  It's really coming together!  We will be hanging these letters above his crib hopefully this week and his dresser will be ready at our shower.  Once we get his dresser, we can hang his other artwork and be nearly complete! I am way, way, way excited.

I can't wait to hear your feedback and thoughts so far.  Until next time, loves! Xo

25 weeks!

How far along? 25 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: Surprisingly, only up three pounds since beginning of pregnancy according to the doctor.  I'm not even sure how that's possible but...sounds good to me.
Baby is the size of a: Rutabaga, rutabaga, rutabaga (I think Andy might be the only one who gets this joke)
Maternity clothes? Yes, maternity t-shirts, maxi skirts and maxi dresses.  I do have a pair of maternity skinnies my mom bought me that I've worn a couple times, too.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep has again been good this week!  Hip pain just started but the boppy maternity pillow really helps.
Best moment this week: Hearing baby M's heartbeat and measuring on target thus far!  Oh, and today being awakened by M playing kickball in my tummy and being able to feel him from the outside for the first time!
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Wine and Angry Orchard.
Movement: Daily!  But so excited that I can feel him on the outside of my tummy now!  Hoping Andy will feel him soon, too!
Food cravings: Still pizza, but also Tex-Mex trail mix from Target.  It's soooo good.
Anything making you queasy or sick: None this week!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Still close to being gone this week because of swelling, but check out this week's chalkboard picture...still on in that picture!
Happy or Moody most of the time: Good moods this week!  The weather has been beautiful which helps!
Weekly Wisdom: Pack lots of snacks or you will get hungry (hungry/angry)
Looking forward to: Baby's dresser being ready soon, bedding should be shipped this week, and getting past the glucose test!

PS-a bonus swimsuit bump pic  because I love showing him off as my favorite accessory! :)

24 weeks/something scary/a hint

How far along? 24 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: Up like 5 lbs since the last time I went I think.  Boo.
Baby is the size of a: cantaloupe.  Whoa!!
Maternity clothes? Yes, maternity t-shirts, maxi skirts and maxi dresses.  I do have a pair of maternity skinnies my mom bought me that I've worn a couple times, too.
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep this week has been great because work has been crazy and I've worked a LOT more hours and have been very stressed.  So at least that's a plus for the week.
Best moment this week: Getting baby's first teether which I've had my eye on for a while (see below) and his personalized hoppy cover.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? Not really. I miss my skin being normal.
Movement: Daily!  He's super active.  I love his thumps before I wake up in the morning and when I'm being still and doing nothing.
Food cravings: Pizza.  It's weird.  I want it like, all the time.  A big, greasy, slice of pepperoni pizza. But don't worry, I'm not eating it for every meal! :)
Anything making you queasy or sick: Just once, but was able to sorta convince myself out of it.
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? They're close to being gone, I think.  Swelling started to kick in around Thursday.  Maybe it was the increase in humidity or maybe it's just how far along I might be.  Either way, it sucks and I find myself hating the way my feet and hands feel.  The rest of my skin feels ok for now, though.
Happy or Moody most of the time: I've been pretty pissy because of work stress this week.  Hubs has been a gem and dealt with the pissyness with love, which is refreshing.
Weekly Wisdom: Drink more water to help with the swelling.  Also, take a break and get off those feet.  Finally, if it feels weird, call the doctor.
Looking forward to: Appointment with the doctor tomorrow to hear baby's heartbeat!  And to see his almost finished dresser! :)

So here's the teether I've had my eye on for some time.  I absolutely love it (and yes, I even put it in my mouth to test it out).  It comes with a stuffed animal version too for him to play with!  LOVE it.

Also this week, I had some weird pains/aches on my upper right side near my belly button.  I called the doctor just to make sure it wasn't anything scary.  To my surprise, the doctor asked me to come in to make sure it wasn't appendicitis.  He checked everything out and he said I should be ok as long as I can still toot and not feeling nauseous. So that was a bit scary.

Today we are playing it low key after a super busy rest of the week.  So by that I mean, I picked up sticks and dog poo in the back yard while Andy used his new weed-eater and filled up the new tiki torches around the pool.  I just need to find a way to hang the outside lights we got in the backyard, and I think I'll be totally satisfied. :)

We also got baby boy's personalized Boppy cover this week.  Could that be a name lurking under there? ;)

Happy weekend, friends! Xo

23 weeks/nursery plans/summerbrew (yummy brew)

This week's bump                              Frank is not impressed.

How far along? 23 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: Not sure yet, and not sure I want to know.  Today I looked at my belly and said WHOA.  My belly is big today.
Baby is the size of a: A large mango?  Which seems smaller than the spaghetti squash of last week.
Maternity clothes? Yep!  Tried on the maternity yoga pants which were once too big and realized my bump has greatly grown sine the last time I wore them :)
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep is so so this week.  Sometimes great, sometimes not.  I still find the most comfortable position is on my tummy with a leg out (like I'm making the number 9 or 4).
Best moment this week: Getting more baby stuff in and making more nursery decoration plans.  Oh, and spending all day in the pool with hubs to the point I'm a little crispy.  Oops.  Guess I should have listened to my red-haired-gened husband when he broke out the sunscreen for himself.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? TROPS!  This weekend my Mom and Bob brought hubs a large trops for doing a good deed, and I drooled over it even though it wasn't the flavor I like.
Movement: Daily still, although it's usually when I'm being lazy :)
Food cravings: Not really, but this week I have LOVED diet cherry 7up or diet cherry limeades from sonic!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No, another good week!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? Still on for now although this weekend's humidity meant my first wicked swelling after a walk.  Boo.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Fairly good this week!  Trying to turn over a new, always positive leaf.
Weekly Wisdom: USE SUNSCREEN.  I read that pregnant women tend to burn more easily in the sun.  Boy, were they right.
Looking forward to: More movement in there!

Ouchie.

Another outtake. I ask hubs to take a picture of me for the blog and get this.

Below is baby boy's diaper bag! I love love love it!!

I ordered these for baby boy's nursery around a month ago and had them special colored to match his decor.  I LOVE them!! I can't wait to get his dresser back so we can hang these above!  He will truly be our little king of the wild things and each week I get more excited to meet him and spend time with him!

I'm looking for one more piece of artwork for the last wall in the baby's room and really felt like this top piece complemented the theme we already have going in the room.  Thoughts?

Finally, as requested by my dear friend Watsuyy, the summer brew (AKA HEAVEN) recipe.  It's SO easy and I know you'll all be wanting to try soon.  For each batch, you take one frozen limeade (brand doesn't matter), one cup of vodka, and three Mexican beers.  I think you could maybe use any beer, but we always use Mexican beer and ALWAYS use Dos Equis because I love it.  Stir, and add limes to taste or as a garnish!  YUM!

22 Weeks/4th of July

Hey y'all!
This weekend, our crazy friends T&M came over.  They were both in our wedding and have had a VERRRRRRY long history (so long I can't even describe in a blog) but they are very dear friends of ours and we don't see them nearly as often as we should.  They came to BBQ and shoot fireworks while the boys drank summerbrew and us girls stayed sober.  PS...T is crazy (crazy funny with his powerful voice).

These two together are big trouble.  Especially after summerbrew.  But outrageously entertaining and I don't regret a moment!
Pretty sure the neighbors hate us.

Also, this happened this week and I was beyond excited.  The weeks are counting down now until he's here!!

How far along? 22 weeks 1 day
Total weight gain/loss: I'm sure it's plenty.  I'm not looking.
Baby is the size of a: Summer squash...that seems GIANT.
Maternity clothes? Yes, maternity t-shirts for now, maxi skirts and maxi dresses
Stretch marks? No
Sleep: Sleep this week has SUCKED, hardcore.  Saturday I even rolled around for like 2 hours trying to sleep and hubs woke up and rubbed my back, all while extremely hung over.  Love this guy.
Best moment this week: SO many lovely moments including getting baby's travel system here, feeling him basically upper cut my midsection, and being able to say that he had a "VERY active day" in my tummy this weekend.
Have you told family and friends: Yes!
Miss Anything? As predicted, I miss summerbrew.  Andy and his friend Tom downed a double batch this weekend I made for them while hardcore salivating.
Movement: Daily!  Although some days more than others.
Food cravings: Nothing.  Although my mom mentioned tempura fried asparagus earlier, and it's sounding mighty nice!!
Anything making you queasy or sick: Nope, this week has been great!
Have you started to show yet: Yes!
Gender: BOY!
Labor Signs: No
Belly Button in or out? In
Wedding rings on or off? On for now, but still take off every night when I get home.  I think they've been gone in EVERY bump picture lately...apologies.
Happy or Moody most of the time: Cranky and having a hard time working since my favorite work friend and favorite supervisor both left :(
Weekly Wisdom: Eat the veggies.  They're good.  I keep reminding myself.
Looking forward to: Strangely, I'm looking forward most to our doctor appointment on the 21st.  I know I won't see Baby and will only hear his heartbeat, but I love going every month and knowing he's snug in there and doing well!

And an outtake for fun?

We were talking about the things we most want from our shower.  Me?  Practical things like the bottles and breastfeeding stuff.  Andy?  The most expensive swing ever he felt he needed to add to the registry.  Welcome to my life.

Until next time, loves! Xo
